Design of a modern minimalist apartment

Design of a modern minimalist apartment

Our new project is the design of a modern minimalist apartment. Minimalism (from the Latin. Minimus - the smallest) - a style in design, which is characterized by conciseness of expressive means, simplicity, accuracy and clarity of composition. He rejects classical art and traditional art materials, minimalists use industrial and natural materials of simple geometric shapes, neutral colors (black, gray) and small volumes.

The main features of the interior in the style of minimalism:

Spatial freedom: a small amount of furniture and accessories;

Space zoning, multilevel lighting;

The color palette of light, based on the play of halftones, a lot of white, graphically accentuated by black or gray. The palette is complemented by natural tones of wood, brick, metal, glass gloss;

Simple natural finishing materials, often untreated, with a rough texture: brick, concrete, wood or plaster;

Simple shapes and lines, almost no decor on the windows and walls;

Geometry of figures: circle, rectangle, straight line, there can be a soft bend (no spirals);

Large windows, light-filled space.

Highlights of minimalism:

Furniture in the style of minimalism has a large number of flat facades. Facades are never milled here, only a flat surface. Facades are used to decorate facades, imitating natural wood or drawings under wood, as well as monochrome colors. Glossy or acrylic facades are also used. More expensive furniture uses natural wood polished under a glossy varnish or with a textured surface. Bronze and graphite mirrors can often be seen on cabinets and facades. Sometimes in these interiors there are countertops made of artificial mirrors. Upholstered furniture in the style of minimalism also has simple geometric shapes.

Lighting in the rooms in the style of minimalism involves the presence of large windows for access to daylight. Curtains are impractical here, they are replaced by vertical and horizontal blinds or shutters. Lamps with screens made of pure cotton in a solid color are also often used. Concealed ceiling lights made of neon and halogen lamps are sometimes used.

The walls in the spirit of minimalist style have a solid color scheme, no more than two or three similar shades of color for the room. The second color option is two contrasting colors. To decorate the walls use monotonous wallpaper, as an option with a vague pattern, embossed surface. Textured plaster, wallpaper for painting are also used. Very interesting interiors of minimalism make inserts of wall panels from natural or artificial materials, such as stainless steel, polished and textured wood, artificial and natural stone.

Ecological minimalism is now extremely popular - natural materials, muted autumn colors, furniture of rough shapes.

The essence of the minimalist approach is that things should be concise and there should be few of them. There are no other laws in minimalism - any colors, textures and spatial solutions are used. That is why minimalism often looks very different.

This design of a modern minimalist apartment interestingly combines the textures of concrete and rust with chrome surfaces, which visually expands the space. Also in the living room and bedroom, the technique of lowering the ceilings and highlighting the window area with a different color is used to visually expand the rooms of a somewhat "corridor" type.
