Modern style for a comfortable life - this definition most accurately conveys the essence of contemporary style (from the English. "Contemporary" - "modern"). It emerged in the 60s of the twentieth century on the basis of the Scandinavian style in order to produce furniture and household items that would be convenient, affordable and functional.

Furniture designers of that time were guided by the idea of creating quality items with high technical performance, but with a touch of elegance. And at a time when wealthy people in the interiors of their homes adhered to traditional, sometimes pathetic canons, the majority were forced to adapt small apartments to modern lifestyles. In addition, the use of expressive decor and unusual details made it possible to make the home more cozy, even in a minimalist style of interior or high-tech.

The main features of the contemporary style:

Brightness and conciseness of planning, as well as simplicity in design;

Integrity and comfort, obvious functionality and accessibility of furniture. Anyone will be able to create a contemporary interior in their home, you just need to show good taste in an effort to create an atmosphere of comfort;

Functional zoning of the room, which is combined with the ease of arranging elements of the environment;
Smooth surfaces of clear shapes, proportional lines. They are a necessary background for decorative interior elements;

Interior accessories are few, but often ethnic and classic forms;

Availability of built-in and modular furniture for storage with many compartments, drawers and shelves.

Materials typical of the contemporary style in the interior:

In order to decorate the interior of the apartment in the same style, often use artificial materials such as glass, laminate, metal, artificial stone, plastic. Of course, the use of natural materials has not been canceled, provided their reliability, good workmanship and environmental friendliness.

Speaking of wall decoration, they are often either painted or sealed with unobtrusive wallpaper. Plasterboard is most often used in ceiling constructions, in which lighting is inserted, and floors are covered with tiles or laminate, which have proved themselves well both in the kitchen and in the bathroom or hallway with living room. In short, the interior design of the apartment in the contemporary style does not have such materials that you could not buy in a regular construction hypermarket.

Styles, trends, colors change, but black and white remain eternal. This is not our first project in the achromatic solution, because in such an interior, each client can be a little designer and add color accents according to your taste. However, it is worth highlighting a few accents that are currently in trend: wallpaper in the kitchen in black and white stripes, soft panels at the head of the bed in the bedroom, a large and comfortable sofa in the living room.
